2019 Central Region Midget AAA Championship – Friday, Apr. 5

And then there were four. Following a full week of round robin games at the Central Region Midget AAA Championship the North Bay Trappers, Toronto Young Nationals, Elgin Middlesex Chiefs and Clarington Toros will be advancing to Saturday’s games where the teams will play for their chance to represent the Central Region at the 2019 TELUS Cup.

North Bay Trappers 3, Pembroke Lumber Kings 1

·         The PLK were unable to come back from North Bay’s three goal run, thanks to Zach Lefebvre, Robert Brisson and Cam Pariseau.

Toronto Young Nationals 3, Elgin Middlesex Chiefs 1

·         Two power play goals from Joshua Currie and Peter Stojcevski in the second period flipped the script for the Toronto Young Nationals and sent them to their third round robin win.

Clarington Toros 4, Kingston Jr. Frontenacs 1

·         The Toros netted three points in the second period and sealed their spot in the Semi-Finals tomorrow.

The winner of the Central Region Midget AAA Championship will move on to represent the Central Region at the 2019 TELUS Cup, the Canada’s National Midget Championship, happening on April 22-29, 2019 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
