2019 Central Region Midget AAA Championship recap

The North Bay Trappers and Toronto Young Nationals are tied for top spot after three days of the Central Region Midget AAA Championship, with the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs close behind.

Elgin Middlesex Chiefs 3, Kingston Jr. Frontenacs 1

·         The Chiefs held onto an early three goal lead to take the win over the Frontenacs. Ryan Burke had a goal and an assist for Elgin.

Toronto Young Nationals 6, Pembroke Lumber Kings 4

·         The Lumber Kings came back from a three-goal deficit but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Young Nats who scored three straight with less than 8 minutes left in the third.

North Bay Trappers 4, Clarington Toros 2

·         Clarington made a run for it, but weren’t able to catch the Trappers who rode their three goal lead to their second win of round robins.

  • Kingston Jr. Frontenacs faces off against North Bay Trappers at 3:15 pm

The winner of the Central Region Midget AAA Championship will move on to represent the Central Region at the 2019 TELUS Cup, the Canada’s National Midget Championship, happening on April 22-29, 2019 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
