The 2019 Ontario Hockey Federation Championships are happening this weekend in host communities all across the OHF.
The events kick off tonight with a welcome banquet prior to games starting tomorrow. Teams will compete in round robins tomorrow and Saturday, before the top four teams head to semi-finals Sunday morning, with the championship games happening Sunday afternoon.
Being held in arenas across the province, the OHF Championships are a three-day event that produces OHF Branch Champions at the Atom A, AA, AAA, PeeWee A, AA, Bantam A, AA, Midget A, AA and Juvenile divisions. For many, Championships are the pinnacle event for minor hockey players from Atom through to Juvenile, serving as the only tournament to crown the best team from each level across the OHF.
Over the duration of the event, hosts will welcome near 125 players from five teams taking part in the Championship to battle it out for the title. Each team has been crowned Champion of their respective Member’s (Ontario Minor Hockey Association, Greater Toronto Hockey League, Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario and the Northern Ontario Hockey Association) Championships in order to qualify for the OHF Championships.
