Quinte West Hawks to host 2020 OHF ‘Bantam A’ Championship

The Quinte Bantam A West Hawks will host this year’s OHF Bantam A Championship. The tournament will be held at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Arena in Trenton, ON from April 10th- 12th, 2020.

The Quinte West Hawks have followed a motto of “One team, One fight!” for several years now. As a team coming from a smaller community, the team’s parents and their players consider themselves to be one big family. Often spending just as much time together outside the rink, as they do in it. The West Hawks are undefeated in regular season play with a record of 26-3-0 so far, with finals appearances in the Early Bird tournament in Ajax, as well as a second tournament in Kingston.

The Quinte West Hawks hope to continue their success in the upcoming OHF Bantam A Championship and look forward to welcoming all of the teams to their city. Here are a few interesting facts about the city of Quinte West:

  • Home to one of the largest military bases in Canada, as well as the Trent-Severn Waterway which is the world’s longest inland water system.
  • Former Olympic figure skater, Elizabeth Manley, who captured a silver medal at the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games called Quinte West home.
  • Quinte West is also home to notable hockey players George Ferguson, John Garrett, Bob Daley and Tom Tilley.
