We are very excited to announce further details about the upcoming U18 AAA regional tournament.
As many of you are likely already aware, this tournament will be featuring some of Ontario’s top teams and will be including our very own U18 team. The schedule will be available shortly and will be published on our website. Round-robin games will run Monday April 3rd-Friday April 7th between approximately 12pm and 8pm, with each team playing once daily.
With a strong regular season and a gritty first-round playdown series completed, our U18 team continues to display the amazing things that can be accomplished when players come together as a team on the ice and a family in the dressing room. We couldn’t be prouder of this group and can’t wait to see where the next few weeks lead.
At the conclusion of scheduled play on Friday April 7th, we will be hosting a banquet for all participating players where family members, friends, and the hockey community as a whole will be able to attend and help to celebrate a huge milestone in the minor hockey career of these young athletes. Alongside Central Park Athletics and Windsor Zone, Oven 360 has been welcomed as a community partner for the evening. All parties will be working together to provide event attendees with an unforgettable experience featuring a perfectly balanced night of celebration and formality.
Lastly, we are extremely excited to announce that the banquet will feature a keynote address from Kaleb Dahlgreen. Kaleb is a Humboldt Broncos bus crash survivor and community advocate and leader. Kaleb will be talking to our attendees about grit, resiliency and the impact of hockey within the community. As many of the players participating in this tournament will be graduating from minor hockey, Windsor AAA Zone wanted to ensure that the keynote speaker left these players with an inspirational message demonstrating how hockey has provided them with many important life skills that will help in their futures to successfully navigate challenges and triumphs.
Banquet tickets will be going on sale today on Eventbrite. Ticket prices include dinner, attendance at the keynote address and the tournament award ceremony. Tickets will be available until April 1st. Avoid disappointment and be sure to purchase early.
Whether at a game, for the banquet, or all week long, please come out and support our U18 team during this premier AAA tournament. Much like their team motto, “We is greater than Me”, together let’s make this an event to remember not only for our U18 team but our entire Windsor Zone membership.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or any board member for further information.
