Vaughan Kings to host the 2020 OHF ‘Atom AAA’ Championship

The Vaughan Atom AAA Kings are this year’s hosts of the OHF Atom AAA Championship. The tournament will be held at Westwood Arena in Vaughan, ON from April 10th- 12th, 2020.

The Atom AAA Vaughan Kings are an extremely close group, comprised of players and parents that have been together since Tyke and Minor Novice. The Kings have found a lot of success this season, having won three tournaments this year – including back to back championships at the Shanahan International. This sort of success is not a surprise to the Kings, who in there 2018-19 inaugural season appeared in the finals of 4 different tournaments. The Atom AAA Kings are committed to playing a defensively sound game with strong goaltending, while also being exciting to watch.

The Atom AAA Vaughan Kings are honoured and grateful to be hosting this year’s OHF Atom AAA Championship. They hope to build on their success thus far and gain valuable experience against some of the top teams across the province. Here are a few interesting facts about the community of Vaughan:

  • The city of Vaughan recently hosted Rogers Hometown Hockey with Ron MacLean and Tara Sloane.
  • Over 40 different players from Vaughan have been drafted to the OHL, with several progressing to the NHL. Notable players include Jordan Binnington, Jeff O’Neill, Alex Pietrangelo and Justin Williams.
  • The Vaughan Kings are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year.
